These vintage olive jars were used to preserve olives & their fine oils and were a staple in European kitchens as olives & olive oil are frequently used ingredients in Mediterranean cooking. They were handmade from terracotta and finished with a glaze on the rim. Due to the handmade nature of these jars, the handprints of the original artisans are sometimes visible as glaze prints on the side of the jar. These vintage pieces could have one or two handles and will vary in size, color & condition.
